Boys' Life is open!!!
It's crazy to think that we started rehearsals just over a month ago and now here we are with a complete show on our hands. Opening night went really smoothly overall which is great! The new seats in the space are FANTASTIC! They're comfy and really classy looking, but best of all - they are SILENT! No fidgeting patrons disrupting the entire theatre! The quiet is nice.
This is really a great cast to work with. Many of them hail from TheatreVCU and I'm thankful for the opportunity be on a show with them all outside of Hodges/Shafer.

I am very out of the loop over at TheatreVCU this year. I only have 1 class in PAC, so I'm not even in the building that frequently. It's really odd. For the first time since I've been in school I'm not wrapped up in mainstage buisiness, trying to set up meetings, track professors/designers down, or spending hours on end in the basement and I kind of like it. It's been an abrupt transition which is unfortunate, but it is a transition that needed to happen. Just like those people who I saw freshman year who couldn't leave high school behind and ended up miserable, I'm now seeing what happens when you can't leave college behind either and it's not pretty.
I'm growing out of VCU and getting ready to move on. It's been great living in Richmond and I have loved my time at school, but when May comes around I'm planning on being ready for life after academic theatre.

I'm excited to see TheatreVCU's Psycho Beach Party stage managed my the lovely Laura who is one of my best friends, as well as Henley's Shining City which has both Trevor and Kelsey on the stage management team and my friend Austin set designing!

Phill came down for a visit last week and it was wonderful having him here!!!! I could write for a very long time about how happy I was to spend time with him and all the awesome stuff we did, but I feel I'd be way too much of a crazed girlfriend so therefore I will just say I am already waiting impatiently for Thanksgiving when I see him next.

Well I'm going to do some paperwork organizing for the show tonight! Talkback following - crossing my fingers it's a good one.

PS - Oh! How could I forget? FOOTBALL SEASON HAS ARRIVED!!!!! The mighty Pittsburgh Steelers beat the Titans last night in the first game of the season!! I love that I got to wear my jersey today! "Here we go Steelers, here we go - Pittsburgh's goin' to the Super Bowl!"
