With your feet in the air and your head on the ground...

Well things have been nailed down completely so I am very happy to say that on Saturday I begin eight days of being the stage manager in the Terrace Theatre at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts! I am really excited about this job! It's seven different events in eight days including some really fun looking ones. It's minimal cue calling, mostly just traffic control backstage and organization so I'm thinking I can handle it!
Getting to leave school for two weeks (job plus Thanksgiving) is really awesome and it'll be good to get out and just stage manage!!!! I've been slowly getting very tired of all this free time. One week of down time is plenty for me!
I'll be living back at my parents for this job, so that will be interesting. Hopefully that all goes smoothly. Everyone gets very used to having only 5 people in the house, so when I pop back home it throws the groove off a little.

I realized that I have been fortunate to see a lot of theatre this past month. I have seen (and worked on 2) of the following shows:
  • Boys' Life - The Firehouse Theatre Project
  • Psycho Beach Party - TheatreVCU
  • Unaccustomed to my Name - Marta Rainer @ FTP
  • Shining City - Henley Street Theatre
  • The Bottom Line - The Conciliation Project
  • Bootleg Shakespeare: Romeo and Juliet - Henley Street @ Barksdale
  • Dog Sees God (staged reading) - The Firehouse Theatre Project
  • This is How it Goes - The Firehouse Theatre Project
  • Much Ado About Nothing - Folger Shakespeare Library
  • Ain't Misbehavin' - TheatreVCU
  • The No Shame Variety Show - SALT
  • All That I Will Ever Be - SALT
So yeah. A lot of theatre in the past 30 days or so! That makes me really happy that I had the opportunity to see it all!

Alright, well I need to dig up all of my black clothing for next week!
