Through the storm we reach the shore...

I really need to work on this whole updating thing...
for serious.

The past month has been... interesting? Lots of things happening.
Personal life wise as well as stage management.

I went to SETC in Chattanooga, TN for the first part of spring break. the conference was great! The convention center was really terrific and made for a good setting for job contact. I ended up with a couple offers and I accepted one from New Harmony Theatre in New Harmony, IN. I get to ASM their three mainstages: Othello, Crimes of the Heart, and My Fair Lady. I also get to SM 3 or 4 staged readings. I am 99.9% sure that I'll also enroll in the EMC program because after reading up on it it seems like a good option that really doesn't tie me down to being equity like I thought it may. It just leaves the option there.

I also had the chance to go home for a bit, which was nice... but all of my family was at rehearsal or work for the most part, so it was pretty uneventful. Then I was able to go up to New York City to visit Trevor with Laura!!!! it was so much fun! I had the opportunity to see Connor McPhearson's new play The Seafarer and it was fabulous!

Meanwhile back in Richmond...
Show assignments were all announced and I am happy to say I will be the PSM of Shadowplay! I honestly wasn't gunning for any particular show, I just really didn't want the unknown one because, well, it's unknown. I get to work with Laura once again!!!! For a pairing that I thought would never happen, having it twice in the same year is so cool. Clearly nobody can stop us!
This show is going to be INSANE technically and I am already having beautiful thoughts as to how kick ass my book is going to be!!!! I will be dropping a lot of money on that binder, you can bet on it.

So right now I'm in my usual post-show slump, which is lame, but I can now focus on Shadowplay auditions. All I can say is thank goodness Trevor is coming back tomorrow! We're planning on having the best auditions ever in the history of TheatreVCU. We're taking back control! ;-)
