A long December

Movies are weird.
For me there are still unknown elements and it can be fascinating. I enjoy a good movie as I can never truly enjoy a good play. I have zero willing suspension of disbelief. Nothin. I can appreciate a good piece of theatre, but I haven't been able to be sucked in to a show since I was about 9 or so and I would see children's shows with my babysitters acting in them. That's partially why I have no burning desire to ever work in film or television. If I did then the "mystery" of it all may be ruined.
Last night I finally got to see The Last King of Scotland which my friend Laura and I have wanted to watch for almost a year. I really liked it. I love that I don't know how they do every single thing. I don't sit there and analyze each and every step like I do while watching a play. It's kind of relaxing I guess.

Another thought I had: I'm peeved at the fact that the writers' strike will have such a big impact on the Golden Globes and the Oscars. Not because OhMiGosh I loooove Hollywood glamor or anything. It's because there are these supposedly funny people who host and present and they are paralyzed without an army of writers to do things for them. Besides, it's an awards ceremony. Lets just give out the honors and be done with it. Seriously. It shouldn't be such a big deal.

In other news... I am completely addicted to The Office. I love it oh so much.
